“Dressing for the Holidays”

Elizabeth Hilton, Laurel Banks, and Sally Hilton

Sally Hilton will present how to dress for your shape and how to pick the right clothes and accessories for travel” at the November meeting of the San Vicente Valley Club on Wednesday, November 19th at the San Vicente Valley Resort, 24157 San Vicente Road.

Sally, owner of Isis Fuller Figure Fashion – a plus size clothing and accessory shop named after the Egyptian Goddess Isis Panthea – was involved in the Fashion industry in England before moving to Ramona to be near family. Sally opened the dress shop in March of this year with her mother, Elizabeth who brings a lifetime of retail experience to the venture. Despite the somewhat controversial name, the shop already has a strong fan base of all shapes and sizes. The mother daughter team, in less than five months, have offered a Dress for your Shape workshop,  held the very successful How Big Is Your Brave Campaign and are now working with the San Diego Girl Scout organization, helping bring to life a body image campaign for girls of all ages. The shop is in Ramona’s Old Town section, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and proud supporter Shop Late, Trick or Treat and many other Ramona events and charities.  “When we were thinking of names for the shop we wanted to find something special, a name that would embody how we feel about what we do.  We want women of all shapes and sizes to feel beautiful, inside and out.  Having been a plus size all of my life, I know how hard it is to find well fitting, attractive clothes for larger women” says Sally.  “It warms my mother and my heart when we can help someone like Laural Banks, the winner of our “How Big is Your Brave Campaign”.  This beautiful plus size lady is in the fight of her life going through cancer treatment.  She is a beloved mother and grandmother who embodies the saying ‘salt of the earth’.  We have also had the absolute pleasure to outfit two women warriors.  These gals just wanted to look beautiful for a special event.  For a moment in our shop and at the event, their prosthetic limbs and unseen scars of war became invisible under beautiful clothes.  Helping women of all shapes and sizes feel the Goddess within you is why we are here.”  The women are quick to state that the name of their shop does not reflect any religious or political beliefs.  The Goddess Isis Panthea is from Egyptian mythology and is known as the Goddess who most embodies utter femininity, the ‘complete female’. Hilton will use client and club member models to demonstrate her ‘dress for your shape’ guidelines.  She will also share information on how best to plan for fashion and style when traveling.  With the Christmas Holiday around the corner, Sally says “Knowing which fabrics pack well and how to layer, you can be stylish anywhere.”
