Dec 2014
This month we will enjoy “Holiday Music” with Gina Seashore getting us into the Spirit of the Christmas Season. Gina is an instructor, par excellence, who has created performance music throughout the county. She began the Ramona Community Singers earlier this year. The group consists of singers from high school to retirement, with a love for a variety of musical “adventures.” So far, they have had great fun in learning choral versions of American classics, some with a Celtic twist, popular tunes, show tunes and now, “special and unique” holiday music. They participated in the fund raiser for the Town Hall with lively versions of “Old Dan Tucker” and “I’ve been Working on the Railroad” – the likes of which Ramonans had never before heard and which earned rave reviews. The group is growing with approximately twenty-five members, and open to any who wish to join, even those with little or no experience. Regular sessions are in the Town Hall on Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. and choir members are regularly seen dancing, singing, humming and whistling back to their cars after each session!
Ramona Community Singers will perform Holiday Concerts in the true sense of “community spirit” ~
Dec. 5th in our beautiful Ramona Library at 7:00 p.m.
Dec. 6th in front of the Town Hall for the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 p.m.
Dec. 17th at the San Vicente Valley Club meeting – noon.
Since the members are not professionals, the expertise and enthusiasm of the group can only be attributed to the diligence and masterful leadership of their teacher, Gina Seashore. The audiences will be WOWED, so make it a point to be there! Each performance will be different and lively! Families may want to see all of them.
